PRAYAGRAJ, March 2 -- Satyam Mishra, an absconding accused carrying a reward of Rs 50,000, has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a young woman whose body was allegedly dumped in the Ganga. The incident occurred on December 22 when the woman, a resident of a village in Kunda, was abducted around 10 pm while talking on the phone outside her house. Following a complaint by her mother, police registered a case on February 8 against Sajjan Shukla, husband of the village pradhan, and Satyam Mishra of Nai Bazaar. During the investigation, police arrested Sajjan Shukla and an associate, Shravan Kumar alias Kaptan Shukla. They allegedly confessed to strangling the woman and disposing of her body in the Ganga. Both were sent to jail, while Satyam Mishra absconded. Initially, a reward of Rs 25,000 was announced for his arrest, which was later increased to Rs 50,000 by the Inspector General. On Saturday, Inspector Manoj Kumar Pandey and his team arrested Satyam Mishra near Dukhiya crossing. After completing legal formalities, he was sent to jail....
