Rs.11.69 crore cleared for police admn complex in Ayodhya
LUCKNOW, Feb. 27 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has granted revised administrative and financial approval for the construction of a police administrative building and integrated control room outside the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra in Ayodhya.
According to an official order issued from Lucknow on Wednesday, a 12,000 square foot facility will be constructed on police department land located outside the temple perimeter. The project has now been sanctioned at a revised cost of Rs.11.69 crore. Hindustan Times has accessed a copy of the order.
The approval includes an additional allocation of Rs.40.94 lakh towards electricity connection and related works, enhancing the earlier sanctioned cost of Rs.11.28 crore. The additional amount has been approved for expenditure in the current fiscal.
The government order states that prior administrative and financial sanctions had been issued in phases in 2023 and 2024, and the full payments against earlier approved amounts have already been released to the executing agency.
The Uttar Pradesh Police Headquarters has been directed to ensure that all statutory clearances and environmental compliance requirements are obtained before commencing construction. It has also been mandated that the project must not duplicate funding from any other state scheme or source.
Officials have been instructed that no deviation in design, size, or scope of the project will be permitted without prior government approval. The construction must be completed within the stipulated timeframe and handed over to the concerned department.
The order further emphasises strict adherence to financial rules and government guidelines while incurring expenditure, with accountability fixed at the departmental level.
