Lucknow, July 16 -- A Railway Protection Force (RPF) probe has allegedly exposed the misuse of the Head Office (HO)/VIP quota by a ticket brokerage network that procured confirmed railway tickets using fake identities and sold them to passengers at inflated prices, railway officials said on Wednesday. The case came to light during a verification drive on Train No. 20104 (Gorakhpur to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express) after intelligence inputs suggested that passengers travelling on HO quota tickets were using fake identities. Acting on the information, an RPF team boarded the train and verified passengers occupying seats allotted under the quota. During the verification on Tuesday evening, a passenger travelling on Seat No. 27 in coach S-2 was allegedly found using a false identity. He identified himself as Sunil, a resident of Siddharthnagar, instead of the name printed on the ticket. His identity was verified using his Aadhaar details.HTC...
