LUCKNOW, May 25 -- In a major relief for patients battling chronic ailments, Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) will roll out an online OPD service for existing patients within three to four months. The initiative will allow doctors to provide consultations via telemedicine, reducing the need for physical visits to the Super-Specialty Block on Shaheed Path. The move comes as the institute grapples with heavy patient pressure. According to Dr CM Singh, director of RMLIMS, nearly 4,000 patients visit the OPD daily, and 70% of them are existing patients returning for follow-ups. Doctors usually call them back every one to three months for review. Under the new system, these patients can consult specialists from home through video or audio calls. Digital prescriptions will be generated online, and doctors will have access to the patient's complete digital medical record with a single click. Physical visits will be required only when absolutely necessary, such as for tests, procedures, or emergencies....
