RMLIMS to get 1,085 newposts for specialist care
LUCKNOW, Sept. 6 -- Patients at Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) are set to get expanded specialist care with the state government approving 1,085 new posts at the institute.
The posts, ranging from professors to junior residents, will support the upcoming Advanced Neuroscience Centre and a 100-bed critical care medicine department. Posts have also been increased in departments including neurosurgery, neurology, cardiology, medical oncology, urology and nephrology, RMLIMS director Dr CM Singh said. The 100-bed critical care facility, being developed under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission opposite the institute's Maternal and Child Referral Hospital on Shaheed Path, is around 70% complete and is expected to be ready by February 2027. It will include ICU and ventilator beds, Singh said.
The sanctioned positions also include senior nursing officers, nursing officers, hospital attendants, technical and administrative staff, besides specialist doctors and residents. Dr Singh said the additional manpower would strengthen specialist services, improve nursing care and help reduce waiting times for diagnosis and treatment, particularly for critically ill patients....
