Results out, 2,297 qualify PCS (Mains)-2025
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 18 -- The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on Thursday declared the result of the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination (PCS)-2025 Mains, with 2,297 of the 10,284 candidates who appeared in the written examination qualifying for the next and final stage of interviews.
The main examination was conducted from March 29 to April 1 at centres in Prayagraj and Lucknow.
According to UPPSC secretary Girijesh Kumar Tyagi, the recruitment covers 28 types of posts with a total of 814 vacancies. Of these, selection for two posts will be made solely on the basis of the written examination. Their results will be declared along with the final selection result.
For the remaining 812 posts, selection will be based on the written examination followed by an interview.
In all, 6,26,387 candidates had applied for PCS-2025, while 2,65,270 appeared in the preliminary examination held on October 12, 2025. The recruitment had initially been announced for 200 posts, but the number was subsequently increased to 920, including 814 PCS posts and 106 posts under the assistant conservator of forests (ACF)/range forest officer (RFO) category.
The preliminary examination result, declared on December 1, 2025, had shortlisted 11,727 candidates for the Mains.
Tyagi said a separate detailed notice will be issued regarding post preferences and interviews for candidates who have qualified for different posts on the basis of their Mains performance.
The candidates' marks and cut-off scores will be made available after declaration of the final selection result, the secretary said.
The result of the petitioner concerned in Writ Petition No. 4253 of 2026, Archit Shivam Mishra versus State of Uttar Pradesh and others, will remain subject to the final judgment in the case, the commission said....
