Lucknow, June 15 -- Ram temple construction committee chairman Nripendra Misra on Sunday appreciated the state government's decision to constitute an SIT to probe the alleged embezzlement of donation money at the Ram temple. Interacting with media persons at the Circuit House in Ayodhya before leaving for the second day of the Ram temple construction committee meeting, Misra called the government's promptness important. "Formation of the SIT shows government's promptness and it is a significant action," he said. Misra said the SIT was formed within 24 hours and includes three senior officers. Further action will be taken based on the investigation committee's recommendations, Misra said. He added that a modern boundary wall, nearly four-km-long, is being built around the temple complex. To strengthen security, 25 watch towers are also being constructed. The boundary wall and watch tower work is being executed by Engineers India Limited, with a target to complete it by August 2026. He further said the Ram temple facade lighting is expected to begin by August 15. Scripts for 20 galleries have already been prepared at the Ram Katha Museum. Samajwadi Party MP from Ayodhya Awadhesh Prasad has demanded a Supreme Court-monitored probe into the Ram temple donation-money. Talking to media persons, Prasad put the Ram temple trust in the dock over the controversy. He said he has no faith in the Special Investigation Team constituted by the state government. The MP demanded that the case be investigated by an independent committee formed under the Supreme Court's direction. To ensure a fair investigation, the Ram Mandir Trust should first be dissolved and all responsible office bearers should be removed, he said. According to Awadhesh Prasad, the probe could be influenced if Trust office-bearers continue in their posts. He credited SP chief Akhilesh Yadav for exposing the entire matter. The MP said Yadav made the issue public by posting on social media and raised the demand for an investigation. Prasad said this is not just a matter concerning the Trust or the state, but one linked to Lord Ram and the faith of the entire nation....
