Ram nets a brace in RA Boys Club's 4-0 win
LUCKNOW, July 15 -- One sided wins continued to hog the limelight in the District Football League 2026 even on Tuesday as LDA (B) and RA Boys Club scored convincing wins, at the Chowk Stadium here.
In the first match of the day, LDA (B) Club notched up a confident 2-0 victory over City Club. Devesh broke the deadlock in the 24th minute with a composed finish after a swift build-up down the right flank, giving LDA the momentum.
Nitin doubled the lead in the 40th minute, converting a well-placed cross into the net and sending LDA into halftime with a comfortable advantage. City Club pushed for a reply after the break but struggled to penetrate LDA's organized defense and creation was limited to a few long-range efforts that failed to trouble the goalkeeper.
In the second match of the day, RA Boys Club overpowered Elite Club 4-0 in a dominant display. Som opened the scoring in the 24th minute, finishing clinically from inside the box. Krishna added to the tally in the 42nd minute with a smart strike just before halftime (2-0).
Ram completed a fine personal showing with goals in the 36th and 48th minutes, the latter coming early in the second half to seal the win. RA Boys controlled possession, created numerous chances, and defended resolutely to keep a clean sheet.
On Wednesday, LDA (B) play their next match against Big Blue Club at 3:00 p.m, before UP Police Club and Tectro Reserve play at 4:30 p.m.
The Sports Authority of India (SAI), National Centre of Excellence (NCOE), Lucknow is conducting athletics selection trials for girls between 14 to 16 of age (age as on January 1, 2027) from July 21 to 23, at SAI Netaji Subhas Regional Centre (NSRC) here.
The trials aim to identify and induct talented athletes into the NCOE residential programme. Young swimmers dominated the pool on the opening day of the District Swimming Championship here on Tuesday. Shivendra Yadav delivered the most impressive performance across the day's various events, securing gold medals in both the 50m and 200m breaststroke, establishing a commanding lead in his category. Pari Tiwari and Rithvik Mishra also won two gold medals each.
In other categories, Ayan Yadav, Ansh Khurana, Bhavna Pandey, Nivedita Singh, Fiona Abeer Singh, Arghodeep Biswas, Anshika Srivastava, Anchit Sinha, and Shiv Jaiswal also won gold medals....
