Rahul Gandhi's visits have no impact: Keshav Maurya
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 8 -- Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Friday dismissed the political significance of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's visit to Prayagraj, claiming that his visits have failed to influence voters in the region.
Speaking to mediapersons during his two-day visit to the city, Maurya said it made no difference whether the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha visited Prayagraj or any other part of the country. "His visits do not affect the youth, farmers, poor or women, as all these sections are firmly associated with the BJP," he said.
He attributed the BJP's continued electoral success to the "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" agenda under Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and chief minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh. Maurya said Rahul Gandhi had visited Prayagraj several times in the past, but the Congress had failed to make any electoral gains in the district or the surrounding region....
