LUCKNOW, Oct. 3 -- Former Lucknow University V-C and social activist Roop Rekha Verma and social media influencer Madri Kakoti, along with several other protesters, were picked up by police from Parivartan Chowk and sent to Eco Garden as they gathered to take out a rally under the banner of Nagrik Morcha. They said the fight against those who manipulated the voter list to suit the present dispensation would continue despite a police crackdown. Satirist Rajeev Dhyani, social activist Madhu Garg, Sudhanshu Bajpai, Mahendra Yadav, Neha Yadav of SP and 40-50 others were detained by the police. They gathered at Parivartan Chowk and wanted to go to Gandhi statue. However, they were not allowed to do so. Police allegedly forced them to board a bus and took them to Eco Garden. "The All-India People's Front has condemned the brutal crackdown and arrests by the Modi government against the nationwide movement demanding immediate cancellation of the unconstitutional and illegal SIR, resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar - who engaged in unconstitutional and unauthorised actions - and the repeal of the 2023 Election Commissioner Appointment Act," said SR Darapuri, president, All India People's Front....
