LUCKNOW, July 22 -- The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal to convene a brief four-day Monsoon session of the state legislature from August 3. Briefing media persons, minister for finance and parliamentary affairs Suresh Khanna said the state government proposes to present the first supplementary budget in the proposed session that would end on August 6. The Yogi Adityanath 2.0 government presented its annual budget for 2026-2027 with the largest size of Rs 9.12 lakh crore. This incorporated new schemes worth Rs 43,565.33 crore on February 11 this year. As Uttar Pradesh goes to polls next year, the state government proposes the supplementary budget obviously to fund new schemes and provide additional money to complete ongoing projects ahead of the polls....
