Properties worth Rs.1.83 crore of two gangsters ordered to be attached
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 9 -- The district magistrate of Pratapgarh has ordered the attachment of properties valued at approximately Rs.1.83 crore, allegedly acquired through illegal means by two associates of the Baba Belkharnath Dham Block Pramukh.
Both individuals have been booked under the Gangsters Act.
The accused are Ajay Singh (alias Takku), a resident of Charaiya village, and Santosh Singh, a resident of Bibipur Bardih.
Both fall under the jurisdiction of the Patti Kotwali police station, which initiated the proceedings.
According to officials, assets worth Rs 93.89 lakh belonging to Ajay Singh will be attached. These include residential and commercial land in Patti Khas, a motorcycle and funds held in two bank accounts. Ajay faces five criminal cases registered at Patti and Nagar Kotwali police stations, involving charges including attempted murder, fraud and offenses under the Gangsters Act.
Similarly, Santosh Singh's properties worth Rs 89.09 lakh, comprising residential and commercial land in Patti Khas, have been ordered to be attached. He faces eight criminal cases at Patti police station, including those related to attempted murder, rioting, assault, gambling and the Gangsters Act. Together, the assets ordered for attachment are valued at approximately Rs 1.83 crore....
