PRAYAGRAJ, June 20 -- In a major push toward digital governance, the Prayagraj police zone is set to expand its e-file system across all seven districts under its jurisdiction. Additional director general (ADG) of the Prayagraj Zone, Jyoti Narayan, has directed police units to accelerate the adoption of digital workflows to enhance transparency, accountability and efficiency. Under this initiative, a wide range of departmental functions including the registration of FIRs, investigations, official correspondence, the issuance of orders and other administrative processes will be managed through an online platform. Currently, nearly 90% of the work at the ADG office is already digitised. This framework is now being extended to the Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Chitrakoot, Banda, Hamirpur and Mahoba districts. Superintendents of police in these districts have been instructed to maximize e-file usage and transition departmental workflows to digital mode wherever possible. This transition is expected to expedite official processes by enabling instant access to case files, investigation reports, administrative orders, and departmental communications. Furthermore, the system will reduce delays caused by multi-level approval processes and eliminate the need to manually track physical documents. According to ADG Jyoti Narayan, the shift to an online system will strengthen transparency, improve accountability, and facilitate the speedy resolution of public grievances. He directed all relevant officers to prioritise the achievement of fully digital policing across the Prayagraj zone. The Uttar Pradesh Police e-file and e-office system digitises departmental workflows by electronically processing file movements, receipts, and approvals across police stations, district offices, and commissionerates. This platform is integrated into the UP Police's official digital ecosystem to streamline administrative functions and improve service delivery....
