PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 4 -- A lawyer was allegedly assaulted and robbed after objecting to being served burnt rice at a restaurant near the AG Office in Prayagraj late Wednesday, prompting lawyers to protest at the Civil Lines police station and block GT Road on Thursday. According to a complaint by lawyer Vishnu Pandey, after he objected to the burnt rice, restaurant staff insisted that he pay the bill, leading to an argument with the manager and waiters. Pandey alleged that several people later joined the confrontation, tore his shirt and snatched his gold chain and Rs 890. He also alleged that the restaurant owner struck him on the forehead with a hard object, following which he lost consciousness. His friends took him to a hospital. On Thursday, lawyers gathered at the Civil Lines police station demanding the accused be arrested. They later blocked GT Road at Eklavya Crossing after no arrests were made....
