Prayagraj airport to adopt winter flight schedule from October 25
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 16 -- The Prayagraj airport will switch to its winter flight schedule from October 25. Flights will operate six days a week due to fog during the winter months and for passenger convenience. No flight movement will take place at the airport on Saturdays from October 31 under the new schedule, officials said.
A total of 21 flights a week have been proposed from Prayagraj. The flights will connect the city with Bengaluru, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad and New Delhi. According to the schedule, the airport will handle four flights each on Mondays and Tuesdays, two on Wednesdays, three each on Thursdays and Fridays, and five on Sundays. Sunday will have the highest number of flight movements, officials said. On Mondays, the Bengaluru flight will depart at 2.50 pm, followed by flights to Mumbai at 3.15 pm, Bhubaneswar at 3.40 pm and New Delhi at 4 pm.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Hyderabad flight will depart at 12.55 pm. Flights to Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi will also operate on these days as per the scheduled timings. Officials said Akasa Air will start a daily service to Mumbai from October 1. However, the daily operation will continue only until October 30. From October 31, the Mumbai flight will operate six days a week, with Saturday as the weekly off day. Airport officials said flight timings could be changed depending on fog conditions during winter.
