Politicising Ram temple donation controversy not right, says Mayawati
LUCKNOW, July 1 -- Mayawati, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief, on Tuesday said the alleged embezzlement of offerings at the Ram temple in Ayodhya is extremely serious and concerning. She further said the matter should not be politicised and the blind religiosity of politics should not be allowed in the country as well.
In a post on X, she said: "People involved in the matter should not be spared but politicising this matter is also not right."
At the same time, to ensure that no further complaints arise regarding offerings made at the temple, it would be appropriate to promptly resolve this issue by emulating the systems in place at other renowned and famous temples across the country for maintaining accounts of offerings, the BSP chief said.
"Not only that, but it would be right and constitutional for political parties like the Bahujan Samaj Party to advise, in the interest of the nation and the people, that the criminalisation of politics, the politicisation of crime and religion besides the blind religiosity of politics should not be allowed in the country. This is also an appeal to fellow citizens," she added....
