LUCKNOW, July 5 -- The police investigation into the alleged misappropriation of donations at the Ram temple in Ayodhya has expanded to the real estate trail with investigators scrutinising suspected property acquisitions by the arrested accused and their associates to determine whether the investments were funded through diverted temple donations, according to senior police sources. The probe includes suspected benami transactions, with police verifying ownership records, financial transactions and fund sources. Under scrutiny are a Lucknow land deal allegedly linked to arrested accused Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav and properties in Lucknow and Noida linked to another associate. Leads emerged during Avinash Shukla's custodial interrogation.
