PRAYAGRAJ, June 6 -- The Saini police in Kaushambi have registered a case after a woman alleged that three members of the transgender community abducted her 17-year-old son and forced him to undergo a gender reassignment procedure. The case has been filed on the directions of senior police officials, and an investigation is currently underway. According to the complaint, the teenager, who performs song and dance at local events, was taken away on May 27 by people identified as Virendra alias Baby, Dinesh alias Muskan, and Mahendra alias Roshni. The mother alleged that they lured her son on the pretext of a performance in the Tanda Road area of Ajuha, Kaushambi. She further claimed that the accused drugged the boy, rendering him unconscious, and took him to an unknown location. The teenager was reportedly left outside his home on May 31, after which the accused fled. The complainant has alleged that during this period, her son was subjected to a gender reassignment procedure without consent. The teenager is currently out of danger and undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the area. The body of a 62-year-old man was found hanging from a high-tension tower in a field in Mungari village under the Industrial police station area in Yamunanagar, Prayagraj on Friday morning. The body was tied with a noose made from a saree. Police from the Industrial area, along with a forensic team, reached the location, collected evidence, and sent the body for post-mortem. The deceased has been identified as Devilal, a resident of Mungari village. Police said the exact cause of death will be known after receiving the post-mortem report. The Prayagraj Commissionerate Police have incinerated a stock of cannabis valued at Rs 6.5 crore, in a decisive step against drug trafficking. The consignment, weighing approximately 13 quintals, had been seized earlier by the Handia police during an operation that also led to the arrest of several smugglers. Acting on a court order and under the directions of DCP (Yamunanagar) Kuldeep Singh Gunawat, the Handia police, along with the narcotics team, carried out the destruction of the contraband. A teenager died on Thursday morning near the Kakodha overbridge in the Kokhraj police station area of Kaushambi due to the negligence of a tractor driver.
