LUCKNOW, May 3 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday wished a speedy recovery to Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai, who was admitted to a hospital after reportedly fainting due to low sodium levels. "I have received the news of Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai ji's ill health. I wish him a speedy recovery," Modi wrote on X in Hindi. Rai was admitted to a private hospital in Lucknow on Friday and remained under medical observation for the second consecutive day. He had allegedly fainted due to low sodium and was unconscious when taken to the hospital. Preliminary investigations reportedly found low sodium levels in his blood, a condition medically known as hyponatremia. Ajay Rai contested against PM Modi from the Varanasi parliamentary constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Congress spokesperson Manish Hindvi said, "Currently, he is undergoing treatment under the supervision of a critical care specialist. During the course of treatment, his sodium levels have been controlled and stabilised. At present, his condition is improving. He has been admitted to the ICU and remains under the continuous monitoring of doctors."...
