PM Modi likely to visit Kashi in April-end
VARANASI, April 19 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Varanasi (Kashi), his parliamentary constituency, in the last week of April for a two-day visit, though the dates are yet to be confirmed, district authorities said on Saturday.
Ahead of the proposed visit, commissioner of police Mohit Agarwal, additional commissioner of police Shivhari Meena, and district magistrate Satyendra Kumar inspected the programme venue at Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) ground.
Agarwal reviewed entry and exit gates, arrival and departure routes, and crowd management arrangements. He issued directions on barricading, ensuring smooth movement, and maintaining uninterrupted traffic flow.
Security arrangements were also assessed, with officials inspecting sensitive locations and reviewing CCTV coverage, surveillance systems, and deployment of personnel.
Officials also inspected the helipad, parking zones, VVIP entry points, drop-off areas, and nearby areas, issuing instructions to ensure all arrangements function smoothly.
A special traffic plan will be enforced across major routes and intersections to ensure the visit concludes in a safe and orderly manner, officials said....
