PDA to build 602 flats on land reclaimed from Atiq Ahmed
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 2 -- The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) is set to launch a major housing project in the Chakiya-Kasari Masari area, once considered a stronghold of the slain mafia don Atiq Ahmed, with plans to construct 602 two-BHK flats at an estimated cost of nearly Rs.150 crore.
The proposed "Padma Awas Yojana" has received approval from the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), clearing a key hurdle for the development. The PDA is now preparing to hold the bhoomi pujan during the upcoming Navratri festival to commence construction.
The project is planned for a 9,811.35-square-metre site. Plans include a 14-storey residential building with a height of approximately 44.85 metres.
According to PDA secretary Vineet Singh, each two-BHK flat will have a carpet area of approximately 37.41 square meters (403 sq ft), a built-up area of about 507 sq ft, and a super built-up area of approximately 608 sq ft. Each unit will feature a living room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a balcony. The complex will house roughly 43 flats per floor and will be equipped with eight lifts for residents.
The PDA finalised the two-BHK configuration after soliciting public opinion. More than 1,000 people participated in the feedback process, with approximately 70% favoring two-BHK units, leading the authority to designate all 602 flats as two-BHK.
Preparations are underway to open bookings for the flats concurrently with the start of construction, allowing prospective buyers to reserve units during the development phase.
PDA officials expect the housing complex to be completed within three years. Zonal officer Suraj Patel stated that authorities are committed to meeting this deadline....
