PDA plans expansion; village survey ordered
PRAYAGRAJ, March 21 -- The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) is planning a major expansion of its area. The PDA Board has approved a proposal to extend its jurisdiction up to eight kilometres beyond the current limits of the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation.
At a recent meeting chaired by divisional commissioner Soumya Agrawal, officials were asked to conduct a detailed survey of villages falling in the proposed zone. A full report will be prepared and later sent to the state government for approval.
Officials said that while the municipal corporation limits expanded in 2020, the PDA area has not changed. The move aims to bring fast-growing outskirts under planned development.
The PDA is also working on a housing project named Aero City near Airport Road in Jhalwa.
The project will include plots and flats in one township. It is planned over 90 acres and work is likely to start in the next financial year after land acquisition begins.
Plots may cost around Rs.20 lakh.
The authority plans to buy farmland from local farmers at an estimated cost of Rs.3,300 crore. At present, the PDA covers nearly 700 villages....
