PCS officer Jyoti Maurya's husband alleges attack
PRAYAGRAJ, May 14 -- Alok Maurya, the husband of PCS officer Jyoti Maurya, has filed a written complaint at the Colonelganj police station in Prayagraj against unidentified attackers.
In the complaint, it is alleged that on Monday night, while Alok was on the road, three youths riding a motorcycle attacked him and attempted to snatch his mobile phone. Based on the complaint, the Colonelganj police are currently scrutinising CCTV footage from the crime scene.
Maurya has also posted a video on social media, appealing to senior police officials to conduct an investigation and take appropriate action.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Singh, the station in-charge of Colonelganj police station, stated that an investigation into the matter is underway.
Alok Maurya, a sanitation worker, is currently involved in an ongoing divorce case against his wife, Jyoti Maurya.
The Government Railway Police(GRP) arrested a criminal known for snatching valuables from women on moving trains and sent him to jail on Wednesday. On May 10, Sangeeta Tripathi of Jaunpur was travelling with her husband aboard the Kashi Express. As soon as the train moved past Prayagraj Junction, a young man snatched Sangeeta's chain from the sleeper coach while the train was at the outer signal and jumped off the moving train.
Investigating this incident, the GRP with the assistance of the RPF (Railway Protection Force) arrested Shanu, alias Shan Mohammad, a resident of Soraon, on Wednesday. Sangeeta's chain, valued at approximately Rs 1 lakh, was also recovered from his possession.
GRP Inspector AK Singh stated that a total of 26 cases have been registered against Shanu between 2015 to 2025.
A teenager paid a heavy price for attempting to alight from a moving bus as his clothing got caught in the door handle, causing him to fall on the road and die on the spot. The tragic accident occurred on Wednesday evening at Medical Crossing under the George Town police station area of Prayagraj.
Anuj Kumar, 17, a resident of Shivlok, Triveni Nagar in Lucknow had been residing in Soraon Raiya area under Phaphamau police station area. He worked alongside his brother-in-law, selling water bottles on buses at a temporary bus stand operating near KP College.
On Wednesday evening, he boarded a Roadways bus at the stand with his stock of water bottles. After the bus had travelled a short distance, he attempted to alight at Medical Crossing. However, his clothing got caught in the door handle. Losing his balance, he fell and banged his head onto the ground. He succumbed to his injuries at the spot.
