LUCKNOW, April 10 -- Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak and agriculture minister Surya Pratap Shahi conducted an aerial survey to assess the damage caused to farmers' crops in Uttar Pradesh due to unseasonal rains, strong winds and cyclonic weather witnessed this week. The survey covered Barabanki, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Amethi, Sultanpur, Fatehpur, Unnao and Lucknow districts. District administrations have been directed to carry out detailed ground surveys to assess the actual extent of damage and ensure timely relief to affected farmers, according to a state government press statement issued on Thursday. Following the aerial survey, review meetings were held in Azamgarh and Fatehpur to verify the ground situation. The meetings were attended by the respective district magistrates, chief development officers, deputy directors of agriculture and other officials concerned.
