PRAYAGRAJ, May 31 -- The Pratapgarh police SWAT team on Saturday arrested notorious criminal Bhanu Pratap Dubey, who had been absconding for nearly 12 years after escaping from custody during a court appearance in 2014. He was apprehended near the Dadhua Gajan Canal under the jurisdiction of Lalganj Kotwali police station. Bhanu Dubey, alias 'Maharaj' and 'Vicky', carried a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his arrest. A resident of Sangiyapur under Lalganj police station limits of Pratapgarh, Dubey had a long criminal history and was involved in multiple serious offences. According to superintendent of police (SP) Deepak Bhukar, Dubey had been living in Surat, Gujarat, under a false identity. He had changed his name, address, and even his father's name to evade detection. In Surat, he resided in Kimavati Complex under the Kim police station area and worked as a truck driver to maintain a low profile....
