Over Rs 82K crore tax revenue for UP in first four months
LUCKNOW, Aug. 6 -- The UP government has collected a tax revenue of Rs 82,406.48 crore in the first four months of the current fiscal (April 1 to July 31, 2026). Its tax earnings were 74.2% of the target of Rs 1,11,010.17 crore for the same period.
Speaking to media persons, UP finance minister Suresh Khanna said the government's earnings are going up consistently and the state's economy has improved further.
GST and VAT together remain the top earners for the state government with a sum of Rs 43017.54 crore collected under these heads in the first four months. Excise followed, with the state government collecting Rs 20,865.08 crore under this head in the same period.
He said the state government earned a total tax and non-tax revenue of Rs 21,754 crore in July 2026 and this was Rs 3.360 crore more than the total revenue earned in the same month last year. The state government's non tax earnings between April 1 and July 31, 2026, were Rs 4568.37 crore against the target of Rs 8143.05 crore for the same period, Khanna added....
