LUCKNOW, May 24 -- The Uttar Pradesh Sunni and Shia Waqf Boards have uploaded details of over 1.27 lakh Waqf properties on the Centre's UMEED Portal, though thousands of entries have been rejected due to incorrect information, prompting the state government to direct officials and mutawallis (caretakers) to correct and re-upload the data by June 5. According to an official statement issued on Saturday, the UP Sunni Waqf Board initiated the process for 1,32,679 Waqf properties, of which details of 1,19,597 properties have been uploaded so far. Of these, 56,281 entries have been approved while 31,308 were rejected due to incorrect information. Another 11,335 properties are pending approval and 20,743 are under verification. Similarly, the UP Shia Waqf Board initiated work for 7,745 properties and uploaded details of 7,594 properties. Of these, 3,718 have been approved, 2,496 rejected....
