Over 300 docs registered across multiple hospitals
LUCKNOW, May 15 -- An investigation by SACHIS (state agency for comprehensive health, integrated services) that monitors implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme in Uttar Pradesh has uncovered multiple instances of doctors' records appearing in several hospitals simultaneously under the scheme.
The audit identified 28 doctors linked with more than 15 hospitals, while 274 doctors were found registered in more than seven hospitals.
"Notices were issued to the concerned doctors and hospitals. A three-day verification process was conducted. All concerned parties received full opportunity to present their side, submit necessary documents," said Archana Verma, chief executive officer (CEO) of SACHIS.
A special verification and sanitisation campaign was undertaken under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) to improve the data accuracy of hospitals and doctors.
"Efforts are being made to eliminate the possibility of any irregularity," Archana Verma stated.
During the investigation, several cases emerged where doctors had previously worked in concerned hospitals but their names remained in the system due to delayed data updates.
"Under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, digital processes, electronic health records (EHR) will be rapidly promoted. This will make complete medical records of patients available in digital form, make the treatment process faster, transparent, effective," Verma added....
