Over 15.7L to take written test on March 14-15
LUCKNOW, March 13 -- The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board will conduct the written examination for Sub-Inspector (Civil Police) and equivalent posts under the Direct Recruitment-2025 on March 14 and 15 across the state. The recruitment drive aims to fill 4,543 posts, for which 15,75,760 candidates have applied.
According to officials, the applicants include 11,66,386 male candidates and 4,09,374 female candidates. The examination will be conducted at 1,090 centres across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. It will be held in two shifts each day - from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Officials said that only government and reputed educational institutions have been selected as examination centres, including government secondary schools, government degree colleges, universities, polytechnics and government engineering colleges. To facilitate women candidates, centres have largely been allotted within their respective divisions.
To ensure a fair, transparent and cheating-free examination, the board has put in place multiple security arrangements. A three-tier control and command centre system will monitor all examination centres through CCTV at the centre, district and board levels.
Adequate police deployment will be ensured at each centre, and candidates will undergo thorough frisking using Hand-Held Metal Detectors (HHMD). Separate enclosures will be arranged for the frisking of women candidates. Candidates have been advised to wear slippers or sandals to avoid delays during the checking process.
The board has also made 100% Aadhaar authentication mandatory. At the entry point, candidates' iris scans and photographs will be captured, and their identities will be verified through facial recognition technology by matching with the photograph submitted in the application form. Candidates whose identity does not match with the records will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
Officials said that the board and the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force will keep a close watch to prevent impersonation or any other unfair practices. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in malpractice or organised cheating.
Candidates have been advised to reach their examination centres well in advance. Entry will begin two hours before the exam, and the gates will be closed 30 minutes before the start of the examination. Those who registered using Aadhaar but have mismatches in their details must report 2.5 hours before the exam for verification.
Candidates must carry their admit card, Aadhaar card or other valid identity proof such as driving licence or passport, along with a black or blue ballpoint pen....
