LUCKNOW, June 29 -- Pankaj Chaudhary, Uttar Pradesh BJP president, on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to the family of socialist thinker and freedom fighter Dr Ram Manohar Lohia (1910-1967) in Jankipuram in Lucknow. The meeting was held under the party's 'outreach to elders campaign' as part of the celebrations marking 12 years of PM Narendra Modi's tenure. Chaudhary met Dr Lohia's family members, including Ramesh Chandra Lohia, Prithviraj Lohia, Harshvardhan Lohia, Rajyavardhan Lohia, Narayan Lohia, Uday Pratap Lohia and other relatives. During the interaction, he shared information about the welfare policies, development works and schemes of the central and state governments. He also inquired about the family's well-being. The UP BJP chief said under PM Narendra Modi's leadership, the country has made historic progress in development, good governance and welfare of the poor. "The main objective of the campaign is to establish a dialogue with senior citizens and eminent families and share the government's achievements with them," Chaudhary said.
