Outages, low voltage still trouble residents
LUCKNOW, May 28 -- Residents across several parts of Lucknow said they continued to face prolonged power cuts, low voltage and repeated instances of "electricity tripping" on Wednesday.
In Shivpuri under the Gomti Nagar Extension substation area, residents alleged that electricity supply remained disrupted for nearly 12 hours. "We spent almost the whole day without electricity and water," said a resident protesting outside the substation.
In the old city and commercial areas, including Aminabad, Nazeerabad, Latouche Road, Ganeshganj and Naka Hindola, residents and traders complained of load-shedding.
"Supply kept fluctuating throughout the day. Even inverters stopped working because of continuous tripping," said Suresh Chablani, a trader in Aminabad.
In Ashiana Sectors K, I and L, intermittent outages continued through the night. Alambagh's Azad Nagar and Natkhera areas witnessed supply disruption for nearly two-and-a-half hours due to repeated line tripping.
Officials attributed some disruptions to maintenance work, cable faults and excessive pressure on the distribution network due to rising demand. HTC...
