Only 13 of 49 bus stn redevelopment projects attract bidders in UP
LUCKNOW, June 15 -- Uttar Pradesh government's push to redevelop bus stations through private investment has hit a hurdle, with 36 of the 49 projects offered in the latest bidding round failing to attract a single bidder. Only 13 projects drew investor interest, with Lucknow's Qaiserbagh bus station and the proposed Jankipuram terminal emerging as the most sought-after sites.

UPSRTC general manager Amarnath Sahai said the proposed facilities would include air-conditioned waiting lounges, digital passenger information systems, multi-level parking and enhanced security arrangements.
Lucknow remains a key focus of the initiative. After the Alambagh project, six more bus stations in the city are proposed to be redeveloped through private participation.
According to officials, the projects have been structured around a mixed-use model, under which 55% of the land will be reserved for transport-related infrastructure and passenger facilities, while the remaining 45% can be used for commercial development, including retail and shopping spaces....
