Mussoorie, Sept. 17 -- The health department has intensified health screening in Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag districts after several residents reported symptoms fever and skin eruptions in addition to other symptoms. In Uttarkashi's Bhangeli village, a health department team led by chief medical officer Dr Shyam Vijay examined children suffering from boils and fever on Wednesday. Dr Vijay said the department was maintaining a close watch on the situation and that screening would continue. He also dismissed reports of a viral outbreak in the village. Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan also tested water from the source supplying the village and found it safe for drinking, said L C Ramola, executive engineer, Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan. Villagers said the problems began shortly after drinking water was supplied from a new source. Village head Sandeep Singh said all affected children were stable and recovering. Meanwhile, in Rudraprayag district, a health department team conducted a medical camp in Satni village in the Bhardar region of Jakholi block after reports of several villagers simultaneously suffering from fever, said district chief medical officer Dr Parul Goyal....
