PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 14 -- A nine-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted from Prayagraj Junction has been safely recovered from Satna by a joint team of the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF). The girl was sent for a medical examination on Sunday to ascertain whether she had been subjected to any abuse. Police teams are continuing their search for the accused, who remains absconding. Sharing details of the case, GRP circle officer (CO) Arun Pathak said the incident took place on September 8. A woman had boarded the Udhna Special Express from Mirzapur railway station for New Delhi with her nine-year-old daughter and nephew. According to police, a man from Mirzapur, who was seated next to the woman, falsely told her that the train would not go to Delhi. Acting on his advice, the woman got off the train at Prayagraj Junction. While they were waiting for another train, the accused allegedly took the girl away on the pretext of buying her a packet of snacks and then disappeared. After the girl went missing, her mother lodged an FIR at the GRP police station. During the investigation, police examined CCTV footage from Prayagraj Junction and found the accused leaving the station with the child. Further footage showed the two travelling in an e-rickshaw near the Medical College intersection. Using surveillance inputs and technical evidence, the GRP traced the accused's movements to Satna. During the search operation, police learnt that the accused had abandoned the girl near Satna railway station and fled after allegedly sensing police pressure. The child was later found safe under the care of Childline officials and was reunited with the police team. She was brought for a medical examination on Sunday as part of the investigation....
