PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 17 -- The Prayagraj Municipal Corporation (PMC) is redeveloping a dilapidated 22-bigha park in the Rajrooppur locality into a high-tech, integrated recreational hub under the Smart City initiative. With an estimated cost exceeding Rs 10 crore, the facility aims to combine entertainment, education, health and environmental awareness in a single space. The project's centerpiece is a one-bigha "traffic park" designed to teach road safety and traffic discipline to children through hands-on experience with miniature roads, signals and small electric vehicles. Beyond the traffic park, the facility will feature entertainment & recreation which includes a motion theatre, toy train, swings, game parlour, cafes, tea stalls and ample seating. An open-air gym for all age groups and an herbal garden showcasing medicinal plants will also be available. Solar-powered streetlights will ensure safety during evening hours. The initial development phase is expected to cost between Rs 3 crore and Rs 5 crore.
