NER flags off new passenger train
Lucknow, May 27 -- A new passenger train service connecting DaliGanj Junction with Nakaha Jungle railway station (in the Gorakhpur area) via Gonda Junction railway station was flagged off on Tuesday by Union minister of state for environment, forests and climate change and external affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh.
The special passenger train, numbered 05065 Nakaha Jungle-Gonda-DaliGanj, was launched during a ceremony organised at Gonda Junction under the Northeast Railway's Lucknow division.
Lucknow divisional railway manager Gaurav Agrawal said the regular operation of train numbers 55061/55062 Nakaha Jungle-Gonda-DaliGanj passenger service has commenced from May 26 and 27, respectively.
According to railway officials, the service is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Lucknow and eastern Uttar Pradesh's Terai belt, covering districts such as Gonda, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar and Gorakhpur region.
The train will halt at major stations including Badshahnagar, Gomti Nagar, Barabanki, Burhwal, Jarwal Road, Colonelganj, Balrampur, Shohratgarh, Siddharthnagar and Anandnagar before reaching Nakaha Jungle.
