neet paper leak traced to nta, cbi tells court
New Delhi, May 16 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) told a Delhi court on Thursday that the NEET-UG 2026 question paper leak traces back to a source inside the National Testing Agency (NTA), officials said on Friday. CBI has arrested seven people in the case so far.
A Special CBI Court on Thursday remanded five accused - Mangilal Biwal, Vikas Biwal, Dinesh Biwal, Yash Yadav and Shubham Khairnar -to seven days of CBI custody.
Seeking police custody of the accused, the CBI submitted before the court that custodial interrogation was required to identify officials of the NTA and other departments allegedly involved in the leak.
According to the agency, accused Shubham Khairnar allegedly obtained the leaked paper on April 28 from a person in Pune, who had sourced it through an NTA contact.
Earlier on May 13, HT first reported that a member of Radhakrishnan panel said, "If a leak occurred, it likely happened upstream- at the higher level question pool stage, within NTA."...
