Narsingh Das elected VNN deputy chairman for the fourth time
VARANASI, July 28 -- BJP corporator Narsingh Das was elected unopposed as deputy chairman during the Varanasi Nagar Nigam's executive committee election held on Monday.
Das is corporator of Ward Number 96 (Dashashwamedh) and he has been elected deputy chairman for the fourth time, said VNN public relations officer Sandeep Srivastava.
The election process began at 12.40pm on Monday at the Smart City Auditorium in Sigra, presided over by mayor Ashok Tiwari. During the proceedings, the mayor invited proposals from executive committee members for the post of deputy chairman. BJP corporator Madan Mohan Tiwari of Ward No. 28 (Sarayanandan) proposed the name of Narsingh Das for the position. All the members endorsed the proposal by thumping their desks. Subsequently, the mayor announced the unopposed election of Narsingh Das as deputy chairman.
Hailing from the Patel community, Narsingh Das is counted among the most senior and experienced corporator of VNN.
Das expressed gratitude for the party's trust in appointing him to the post for the fourth time. The proceedings were conducted by joint municipal commissioner Krishna Chand. Municipal commissioner Himanshu Nagpal and executive committee members-including Praveen Rai, Madan Mohan Tiwari, Ashok Maurya, Madhuri Singh, Sushila, Indrarani, Rajkapoor Chaudhary, Govind Prasad Singh, Sanjay Kumar Keshri, Balram Kannaujia, and Sandeep Raghuvanshi-were present at the meeting....
