Motorcyclist robbed of Rs.44,000 and two phones in Prayagraj
Prayagraj, June 22 -- A young motorcyclist was allegedly robbed of Rs.44,000 and two mobile phones by miscreants in the Karelabag area during the early hours of Sunday. Police have registered a case and launched a search operation. According to police, Mithilesh, a resident of Lamedih village under the Airport police station area, was travelling to Maheva market around 4 am carrying Rs.44,000 collected from the house of his relative, Shalu, a cattle trader.
While passing through Madaripur in Karelabag, a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction allegedly hit his vehicle. Three youths got off the motorcycle, assaulted him and threatened him with a firearm before snatching the cash and two mobile phones.
Police reached the spot after receiving information, but the accused had already fled. Kareli police are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspects. SHO Ashish Singh said efforts are underway to arrest those involved....
