LUCKNOW, July 30 -- A 17-year-old boy and his mother, who died by suicide within hours of each other in Hardoi district, were cremated at Mehndi Ghat on Wednesday. The incident took place on Tuesday evening in the Pihani Chungi area under Dehat Kotwali police station limits. According to family members, the boy had appeared normal throughout the day and interacted with everyone before telling them he was going to rest in his room. At around 8 pm, his mother had gone to wake him up and had found him hanging. She had rushed out screaming to alert family members. Before anyone could recover from the shock, she had allegedly jumped from the second floor of the house, dying on the spot. The reason behind the minor's suicide remains unknown. The tragedy has revived painful memories for the family. Around 18 months ago, the elder son had also died by suicide after shooting himself....
