Meerut, March 31 -- Pakbada police arrested a notorious history-sheeter who had been absconding for nearly 21 years, under the Moradabad district police's verification drive. The accused, identified as Naresh (56), a resident of Hashampur Gopal in Pakbada, had been evading arrest by living under a false identity in Sambhal. According to police officials, Naresh had assumed the name "Sultan," posing as the son of Jamaluddin, and had successfully integrated into the local community. To sustain his cover, he procured multiple forged documents, including two fake Aadhaar cards, three voter ID cards, a PAN card, an e-Shram card, a Prathama Bank smart card, and even used a fabricated letterhead. A mobile phone was also recovered from his possession. The arrest was made during a routine verification drive targeting suspicious individuals. A police team from Pakbada station spotted the suspect moving in the area and swiftly laid a trap on Dingar Pur Road, leading to his capture. During interrogation, the accused confessed his true identity as Naresh, son of Shankar Valmiki. He admitted that several serious criminal cases, including robbery and dacoity, had been registered against him in the past. To escape law enforcement scrutiny, he fled his hometown over two decades ago and established a new identity in Sambhal. Police revealed that he had been living among the Muslim community and regularly visiting a mosque to maintain his disguise. Kumar Ran Vijay Singh, SP, City, confirmed that the accused has been produced before a court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody....
