LUCKNOW, Aug. 1 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has translated the vision of Sant Shiromani Ravidas into reality, said deputy CM Brajesh Pathak while addressing a convention of community toilet (rural) caretakers at the Ravindralaya Auditorium on 'Sanitation Workers' Day' on Friday. "Imagine a society or a home without cleanliness; life would become hell. If you were not to perform your duties, it would become impossible for people to live amidst the filth. I bow in reverence to the hard work and dedication you, as sanitation workers, demonstrate towards society," said Pathak. Pathak stated that the revered Ravidas had envisioned a society where no one goes hungry. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked to turn this vision into reality. Free food grain is being distributed to 80 crore citizens of the country," said Pathak. "While the Samajwadi Party government had changed the name of 'Sant Ravidas Nagar' to 'Bhadohi,' our government restored the name to honour Ravidas. Similarly, the name of Kannauj Medical College had been changed during the SP government's tenure; our government renamed the hospital after the architect of the Constitution, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar," he said. He remarked that we are all following the path shown by Babasaheb Ambedkar, who dedicated his entire life for the uplift of Dalits.
