Haldwani, June 4 -- A 50-year-old woman who had been missing since Tuesday evening was found dead near the Beriparao railway crossing in the Khurpia Farm area of Nainital district on Wednesday, police said. According to Lalkuan police station in-charge Brij Mohan Rana, locals alerted police after spotting the woman's body near the railway crossing. Police reached the spot, took possession of the body and sent it for postmortem examination. The deceased was identified as Sunita Devi (50), a resident of Goal Gate in Beriparao, police said. "Preliminary investigation revealed that she had been missing since Tuesday evening. The exact cause of death will be known only after the postmortem report is received," Rana said.
