LUCKNOW, March 11 -- A four-year-old girl who went missing during a family ceremony in Chinhat area of Lucknow was found about 3 km away with a suspicious man, police said on Wednesday. The accused was identified as Sarvesh Rawat, a resident of Sewki Ka Purwa village in the Zaidpur area of Barabanki district. The incident occurred on March 9 during a tilak ceremony at a banquet hall on Matiyari-Deva Road. However, the FIR was registered on Tuesday. According to police, Anurag Yadav, a resident of the Ramsanehighat area in Barabanki, had come to attend his brother-in-law's function with family members. During the event, his four-year-old daughter was near a snack stall with her mother when she suddenly went missing, police said. Family members searched for the child but could not locate her. They later checked CCTV cameras installed at the venue. The footage reportedly showed the girl walking out of the gate around 8:51 pm, with a man seen ahead of her. Following this, the family informed the police through Dial 112 and a search operation was launched in the surrounding areas. Meanwhile, some people spotted a man behaving suspiciously with a child near another banquet hall about 3 km from the venue. Suspecting foul play, they stopped him and informed the police. A police team reached the spot and brought the man along with the child to the Matiyari police outpost under the Chinhat Police Station area. Police said a case has been registered against the accused based on a complaint filed by the child's family and further investigation is underway.
