Midnight crash kills four in Lakhimpur Kheri
Lakhimpur Kheri, April 29 -- A collision between a speeding car and two motorcycles on the Behjam-Lakhimpur road near Lakhnapur village under Phardhan police limits around midnight on Monday left four youths dead and two, including the car driver, critically injured.
All the victims on the motorcycles were close relatives returning home after attending a wedding on Monday night.
The impact was so severe that the car plunged into a roadside ditch and was badly damaged, while the two motorcycles got mangled.
Raju Rao, inspector at Phardhan kotwali, who reached the spot with his team, said the deceased were identified as Hitesh Shukla (42) and Hari Kishan (40), both residents of Sonaura village, and Anuj Kumar (35) and Adarsh (28), both from Basara village under Neemgaon police limits.
Hitesh and Hari Kishan died on the spot, while Anuj and Adarsh succumbed to injuries at the district hospital.
The car driver, Bhanu Pratap, and another biker, Shivendra alias Gunjan, were also critically injured and referred to Lucknow after initial treatment.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem, police said....
