Lucknow, June 3 -- The Lucknow Police have registered an FIR on Tuesday against two individuals for the alleged rape and confinement of a 15-year-old girl described as "mentally challenged" in the Jankipuram area. The incident reportedly occurred overnight on June 1 and the FIR was filed based on a complaint from the victim's mother. "The complainant's mother, a resident of Mirzapur, filed the complaint stating that her 15-year-old daughter left their home for a walk around 8:00 PM on June 1 and did not return. The family searched for her throughout the night," the copy of FIR read, a copy of which HT has. "According to the family, the victim was found the next morning, around 5:00 AM on June 2, emerging from a newly constructed, empty house. Following information from locals, the mother checked the house and reportedly found her daughter's clothes inside," said Vinod Kr Tiwari, SHO, Jankipuram. The complaint further alleged in the FIR that two individuals one named Dinesh and a second, unidentified person who fled the scene confined minor in the house all night and raped her. "The FIR was registered at the Jankipuram police station under sections 5 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, 2012, and sections 64(2) (rape), 70(2) (gang rape), and 127(2) (wrongful confinement) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. Police have launched a search operation to apprehend Dinesh and the second accused," the SHO added....
