Men refuse to pay for fuel, assault petrol pump staff; one held
LUCKNOW, Aug. 28 -- A 30-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly assaulting employees of a petrol pump on Kanpur Road in Sarojininagar after filling fuel in his SUV and refusing to make the payment, police said. The accused, Ishant Singh Sengar, a resident of Arjunganj, was arrested by a Sarojininagar police team following a probe based on technical and local intelligence, police said on Thursday.
According to the complaint filed by Chandramani, manager of the petrol pump, the incident took place on August 23. "Three men travelling in an SUV, along with their associates, allegedly got fuel filled in their vehicle but did not pay. When petrol pump employees confronted them, the men allegedly abused and assaulted the staff," the complaint read.
Police registered an FIR under sections 191(2), 115(2), 352 and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the three unidentified occupants and others. Police said teams were formed to identify and arrest those involved. Sengar was arrested on Thursday and produced before a court. The SUV allegedly used in the incident was also recovered.
Police said Sengar has a previous criminal case registered against him at Sarojininagar police station under sections 115(2), 127(2), 351(3) and 352 of the BNS....
