Mathura to host grand 500-drone show for Janmashtami
Agra, Aug. 27 -- A grand drone show featuring 500 of them will light up the skyline of Mathura on September 4 to mark Janmashtami, officials said.
The show will be organised by the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad (UPBTVP) from 9 pm to 10 pm. According to UPBTVP chief executive officer Laxmi Nagappan, the 15-minute show will depict various leelas (acts) from the life of Lord Krishna. "The festival of Janmashtami in Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, will be celebrated on a grand scale this year, with the drone show being an added attraction," Nagappan said.
She said the show would be visible from a distance of 3 to 4 kilometres, allowing lakhs of devotees gathered in and around Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi to witness it.
The show will follow the pattern of similar drone displays organised in Ayodhya, Varanasi and Somnath. A Krishna-themed drone show was also held at a temple in Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan, while a similar event was organised at Somnath Mandir in Gujarat, Nagappan said....
