Mathura to host Braj Raj Utsav ahead of Diwali
AGRA, Oct. 6 -- Festivities in the land of Krishna are set to get a boost with the 'Braj Raj Utsav', an 11-day celebration of art, craft and cuisine to be held ahead of Diwali.
Organised by the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, headed by the chief minister, the festival will be held from October 23 to November 2 at the Dhauli Pyau railway ground in Mathura.
Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad (UPBTVP) chief executive officer Laxmi Nagappan said the Braj Raj Utsav is being jointly organised by the UPBTVP, police, district administration and tourism department.
"Artisans, craftsmen and handicraft experts from different states will assemble at the railway ground.
A variety of cuisine and entertainment will add colour to the event, while artists from across the country will perform alongside local artists," said the CEO.
"Stalls will be set up to showcase products from different states, giving tourists an opportunity to explore their handicrafts and crafts.
Cuisine from across the country will be a major attraction at the Braj Raj Utsav.
There will be something for every member of the family, while cultural activities will make the 11-day festival special," said Nagappan....
