Mathura man gets life imprisonment for beating minor stepson to death
Agra, March 19 -- A man was sentenced to life imprisonment for mercilessly beating his stepson to death for urinating in bed. The Court of Session Judge at Mathura also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on the accused step father.
The matter relates to the incident on the intervening night of September 28 and 29, 2022 when Premveer, the accused stepfather thrashed his 11-year-old stepson Raju with stick, legs and fists for urinating in the bed while sleeping. An FIR was lodged by the mother of the deceased on September 29 at Highway police station in Mathura.
Vikas Kumar, the District and Session Judge at Mathura passed the verdict in Session Case no. 1659 of 2022, State of UP versus Premveer who had married Papli after she lost her husband with whom she had two sons, Raju (11) and Sunny (8).
A case was registered under section 302 (murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 325 (causing grievous hurt) of the Indian Penal Code with case crime no. 1074 of 2022 registered at Highway police station in Mathura.
The accused lost his temper when he found bed dirty after Raju, the deceased stepson urinated while asleep in night. The younger stepson Sunny was also beaten up by the furious accused....
